J. LAMAR YEATES

Lamar represents landowners and developers in all phases of property ownership and development. From acquisition due diligence and contract negotiations to enhancing land value through strategic improvements, his natural passion for the land is evident when guiding clients through transactions.

Prior to joining Ressling and Raish, PLLC, Lamar served as in-house counsel for a multi-state commercial property management company. In that role, he was responsible for leading the litigation team and managing legal exposure for forty-seven apartment complexes. He also has experience trying cases in landlord and tenant law, adverse possession, boundary line disputes, and trespass to try title actions. His previous litigation experience enables him to understand the business decisions clients face when managing commercial real estate and advise clients in avoiding the common pitfalls of real estate transactions.

Lamar is also licensed to practice law in Mississippi and maintains an active Texas real estate sales license. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2015 and received his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2020.

He currently lives in Houston with his wife, Caroline Yeates, and their two young children. They attend Houston’s First Baptist Church.
